Knowing Christ as Savior and Lord is what brings a common thread to our combined stories.
Known by several names, Table of Communion, The Lords Table, and in some religious circles it is called Sacraments. Regardless of what it’s called, Communion has a single purpose, and that is for the followers of Christ to pause and remember what Jesus accomplished on the cross for them. (2 Peter 1:4) It is also a celebration of what we look forward to in heaven. (1 Corinthians 11:26) It is symbolic of how Jesus shared it with His disciples. He broke bread and shared the fruit of the vine. At FA we use grape juice so that the youngest follower can participate and those with a history of victory over alcohol needn't be concerned.
Your story may not include being a Partner in Ministry or even attending regularly at FA.
To receive communion; the ONLY requirement is that you know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. No one will ask you, because only you and God know the answer to that question.
FA serves communion on every month on the second Sunday, occasionally on Wednesday nights, for special focus services, and it is also fostered and encouraged to be shared within Life Groups and within families in their own private homes.
We are commanded to “remember...as often as you do it” This is a part of your spiritual journey each month!
